I've made it home, made it to the pharmacy to pick up the Lortab (wasted $25!) and when I came home Joey wanted to go potty. I carried him to the bathroom, carefully placed him on the floor to stand and when he was all done he took off! Walking all over the place. Keep in mind he just had his knee sliced open an eight-plate that was screwed into his bones! taken out of the said knee and now he's running. I have to keep telling him No Running!!! No Running!!
Thanks for all of your prayers.
While we were in the same day surgery room getting checked in.
They have to ask important questions like, Does he have any piercings? Does he have any tattoos?
After that was taken care of, it was time to play in the big playroom
Technically, the room was closed but same day surgery patients are allowed to enter whenever they want.
So he had the whole entire room to himself.
He didn't have to share a thing!
He was in heaven!
But the phone rang and it was the OR staff and they wanted us to check in at the pre-op holding area.

Thanking the Lord that everything went smoothly. And I am very thankful for a post about the surgery!

I am so glad you updated. I have been thinking about you guys today. I am thrilled that all went well, but WTH?! He's walking already?! LOL - kids ARE resiliant! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad things went well!
ReplyDeleteRebecca--I have been out of the loop because the kids have been sick and I haven't had a chance to stop by and "visit" you. Let me just say--I am SO glad everything went well. Like I always say--Joey is TROOPER and so are you! I will keep him--and all of you in my prayers and I am so glad that he got the hardware taken out during this surgery--like you said in your last post--a "good" surgery. You are so positive--such an inspiration. Sending love to all of you and wishing you a Happy New Year.
